Thermal Comfort Laboratory
INFORMATION ABOUT EQUIPMENT/INFR.
DESCRIPTION / SCOPE
Laboratory in which it is possible to simulate a wide range of temperature and humidity situations. It consists of two thermal chambers for the control of environmental conditions: a large one (3X3X2,6 meters) that allows the realization of tests with users inside, with temperature conditions ranging from -20ºC to 60ªC, and a relative humidity between 30-70, and a smaller one (1X1X1 meter), which is used for the evaluation of small products and allows to reach a wider range of temperatures (-30ºC and +150ºC) and humidity (15-98%). The combination of the cameras, together with the manikins and recording systems, make it possible to simulate and characterise the behaviour of various materials and products, as well as to see the thermal comfort of users when they are in a seat or wearing a sports garment in extreme conditions.
Modeling the biomechanical, physiological, cognitive and emotional response of the user in different interaction environments.
